New strategic partnership between Wolfson and the Voltaire Foundation

Sir Tim Hitchens, President, Wolfson College and Professor Nicholas Cronk, Director, Voltaire Foundation, have today announced a new strategic partnership between Wolfson and the Voltaire Foundation. This mutually beneficial and collaborative partnership will build on their shared legacy at the heart of Enlightenment thinking, an interest in pursuing digital humanities, and a commitment to European collaborations. The organisations will work closely together to offer a vibrant academic home for postdoctoral researchers and visiting fellows, and will collaborate on events and seminars through Wolfson’s Digital Research Cluster.

Sir Tim Hitchens said: “Wolfson College is delighted to be collaborating with the Voltaire Foundation to advance our common interests in enlightenment thinking, our European vocation, and research in digital humanities. I am sure the partnership will thrive in the years to come.”

Professor Nicholas Cronk said: ‘We are delighted to be entering into a strategic partnership with Wolfson College, whose founding President, Sir Isaiah Berlin, was such an influential figure in Enlightenment studies. As we near the end of our project to publish the Complete Works of Voltaire, we plan to grow our research activities over the coming years. Our partnership with Wolfson will play a crucial role in enabling us to achieve our ambitions for the future.’
