Noreen Hassan

I am a political science researcher with a focus on eighteenth-century intellectual history and Enlightenment studies. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from Cairo University.

At the Voltaire Foundation, I contribute to research and editorial work on Voltaire and the broader intellectual culture of the Enlightenment. My work includes supporting projects on the Arab Enlightenment and examining the reception of Enlightenment principles in the Arab world, as well as translating selected English works into Arabic to expand access to Enlightenment scholarship.

In 2025, I was awarded first place in the Enlightenment Essay Competition organised by the Adam Smith Institute in London. I was subsequently invited to present my work at the Global Enlightenment Forum at Senate House, University of London.
